Here i have analysed feedback for my editing task shown below. This is important as i must ensure that i take on board audience feedback so that i am aware of conventions that have been appealing to people, and thus i can include them in my own music video in attempt to attract a wider target audience. Furthermore i can also analyse negative conventions and thus not include them in my own music video to avoid deterring people from watching my video. This is an important part of my research as i am becoming aware of the popular and successful conventions used in everyday, popular music videos and I am also learning how to apply these conventions using platforms such as abode after effects which takes time to master the use of new tools and effects and thus am preparing myself for the new software i will come into contact with when making and editing my own music video later on.

Here, Julianna (the person im working with) and I went around the school, filming different shots of Rebecca. we did this with an aim to practice our editing techniques, in order to ensure our skills our up to a high standard ready for when we begin to edit our own music video. We used abode after effects as our hardware in which we were to edit this shot, although difficult at first to actually learn the controls of this new software, with the aid of YouTube tutorials we were able to complete the task. I shall go around peers and friends at school to ask them to express their views also, this will further enrich my understanding of attractive editing effects that will further encourage people to watch my music video.

Here I have analysed how females are represented in the media, with reference to album covers. I have chosen kylie Minogue as she is a very iconic women, well established in the media and so I feel she is a clear representation of females in general. I have analysed this to give me ideas of whether I am aiming to conform or subvert Orr the typical representation of women within the media, when making my own album cover.

Representations of women in the media deconstruction neyo, taylor swift, ect. from naomipalfreman36

Here I have analysed how females are presented in music videos, using two music videos 'coming with you' and 'bad blood' of which portray very different representations of women and demonstrate very different messages. it is important for me to analyse the representations of gender in order to ensure that I am aware as to whether I will conform or subvert from the typical representations of gender in my own music video. I have also ensured that I make reference to feminine theories such as Mulvey who established the male gaze theory.

Hall of famedeconstruction from naomipalfreman36

Here I have deconstructed the first four shots of the music video 'Hall of fame'. It is important for me to do this as it not only gives me inspiration for the producing of my own music video, but also enables me to develop my understanding of shot types and typical conventions used in successful music videos available on today's market. I feel inspired by the shot types, editing techniques ,mise-en.cene and of course the lyrics and music, demonstrated in this music video and so I feel I know have enriched thoughts about what kind of things I could include in my own music video. One thing that stood out for me in this music video was the mise-en-cence of lighting. The range of both high key and low key lighting throughout the video really influences the mood of the audience and their interpretations of the lyrics so therefore I will definitely experiment with my lighting in my music video to ensure that the lighting is in fact reflective of the lyrics and mood I am trying to create- this idea of my visuals (in this case mise-en-cence lighting) actually follows the typology of Andrew Goodwins 'Illustrative' music videos!

For my research it is important that I explore music videos that are successful in society today. While searching through music videos on YouTube, I came across this video 'Hall of Fame'- the script ft.Will.i.am. This song came out on the 19th August 2012,and since then has reached 195,578,748 views on YouTube. The track was given its first radio play on Capital Fm on 23 July 2012. The song stood at number one in Ireland for four weeks, while occupying number two in the UK's charts, narrowly missing out on first position of which was granted to 'Let me love you'- Ne-Yo. I really like this 'illustrative' (Andrew Goodwin's theory) music video, of which combines both Narrative and performance elements, following Simon Firths music video typologies and classification. The narrative elements are interspersed, following the life's of two individuals who are both learning to follow their differing dreams, one a keen ballerina and the other an avid boxer. This therefore attracts me to the song because I feel that it has a deep meaning to it, which can also inspire many young people maybe interested in pursuing their future in the performance industry and so this songs target audience could arguably be young people. The performance elements of the song, show the 'Script' of whom are the Irish pop band who wrote this song and Black eyed peas 'Will.I.am' performing this song in a warehouse space. This gives me the indication that they are referring to themselves and their experiences through their message of following dreams and getting to fame. Therefore I feel a further connection with the song because It feels although the artists themselves are talking directly to you and transmitting their message to you personally. There are many shots used throughout this music video, of which I feel the close up shots are particularly meaningful and effective, for example the close up shot of the Mothers cigarette buts, contrasts dramatically with the medium close up shot of the 'Fathers' healthy orange juice and fruit bowl. This therefore highlights the differences between the two individuals, but therefore highlights the message of the song, that anyone can achieve their dreams despite their different lifestyles.
